I am a Professional Certified Dog Trainer with over 20 years of experience working with all types of breeds and temperaments of dogs and their people in settings including: daycare and boarding facilities, animal shelters, group classes, and within clients homes. I have also worked in shelters, advised high profile rescue cases, and even aided animal control in subduing dogs with as little stress as possible. I am currently a Private Trainer specializing in behavior modification. I help dogs with all types of anxiety, insecurity, fear, and aggression change their behaviors and their relationships to their environment. The goal is always to improve the relationships between the dogs and their humans so all can live healthier, happier lives.
I am certified through Animal Behavior college and am also a Certified Canine Good Citizen Evaluator through the American Kennel Club. In addition, I have a bachelors degree in education from Providence College and did graduate work in communications at Emerson College. I concentrate my current professional development studies on how canines think and learn, both as individuals and in a group. I have become an expert in evaluating dog body language to assess what dogs are really trying to tell us with reactive behavior. I understand how dogs learn, how they communicate, why they react out of anxiety or fear, and how to help you overcome frustration and uncertainty to feel more confident with your dog to set you both up for success!
